FILLING THE PEWS

I am praying tonight for God to come into the First Church of God here in Saginaw Michigan and help his servants enlarge the boundries of the worship service. To allow it's members to reach out and touch other people that are needing God in their lives. Pastor Van is working hard to lead people to the Lord but he needs help form the members of the Church.  The pews need to be full.

God Bless All of Us

  1. When I was a child, the women and men of the church - in groups of 3 or 4 - would take a couple of hours on one day of the week - usually Saturday pm - to go around the town's neighborhoods and invite people to church. They'd also share the "good news" if the people were receptive. Another thing they used to do is invite the children to Sunday School - with or without their parents - and would pick them up on the church's bus. Another incentive was always some kind of treat for the children - usually candy. Of course today you almost have to have a background check before you can put someone to working with children. Sad but true. When Becca was a little girl there was a very special lady that would come around and call on us about once a month from the Weslian Church. The neighborhood children filled their church van every Sunday. God bless.
